YUL gives you a morning and an evening routine. Open YUL, tap Start Routine, do your skincare, then tap Done. The front camera takes a single photo that's saved as the first photo of that day's journal entry, your routine is marked complete, and any chapter or badge you've earned is revealed. Doing your routine is what grows your streak.

When you finish a routine, YUL captures one front-camera photo and saves it to that day's journal entry on your device, synced through your own private iCloud. It's a personal before/after record, nothing more, the photo is never uploaded to a YUL server, never analyzed, and never leaves your device through us. See Privacy & data.

Check that camera access is granted in Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera → YUL. If it's off, YUL shows a prompt to open Settings and turn it back on. If the camera still won't open after that, email us with your device model and iOS version.

Yes. Use Postpone to shift a routine window later, or Skip that slot if you need to, both are built in so a busy day doesn't break your progress. See Streaks, chapters & flex.

App shielding is an optional consistency mechanism. If you turn it on, the distraction apps you choose are held behind YUL during your routine window until you complete your routine. It's there to help if you want a nudge, the routine, your streak, and the wellness pillars all work whether or not you use it.

Open Settings inside YUL and tap Distraction apps. The first time, you grant Screen Time access; then Apple's app picker opens so you can choose the apps and categories to shield. Changes take effect on your next routine. Leave it empty if you'd rather not shield anything.

No. Your choices are represented by opaque tokens issued by Apple's Family Controls framework, YUL never sees the names of the apps you pick, and that information never leaves your device in a readable form.

No, that's an iOS limitation, not a YUL one. iOS lets apps shield a whole app, not scroll inside it. When a shielded app is held, YUL's screen shows instead of the app until you complete your routine, after which the shield lifts for the day.

App shielding depends on Apple's Screen Time / Family Controls permission. If it's revoked, YUL shows the Distraction apps row as Off. Re-grant it by tapping that row in YUL's Settings and approving the system prompt.

Chapters are a permanent collection of 30 milestones you unlock as your streak grows, from Curious all the way to Transcendent. They're loss-proof: if your streak resets, you keep every chapter you've already earned. Badges are 15 separate achievements, 10 for lifetime routine counts and 5 for specific behaviors. Both are yours to keep forever.

YUL is flexible by design, with three ways to take pressure off, none of which undo your collected chapters:

• Postpone, shift a routine window later, up to twice per slot.
• Skip, skip a routine, up to 3 times per week from a shared pool.
• Pause, step away for up to 30 days per quarter, for travel or a longer break.

There's no master off-switch, on purpose, the gentler flex tools keep you in the habit without an all-or-nothing escape hatch.

Skips refill every week (the pool resets Monday). Pause days refill every calendar quarter (January, April, July, and October). Postpones reset per routine slot.

Never. A streak reset only resets the streak counter. Every chapter and badge you've unlocked stays in your collection permanently.

Alongside the routine, YUL surfaces four dermatologist-adjacent daily signals that round out caring for your skin holistically:

• Hydration, log your cups of water through the day.
• Movement, your Active Energy, read from Apple Health.
• Breathing, short guided stress-reduction sessions.
• Weather, local UV, humidity, and wind so your routine can adapt.

They have their own habit badges and never affect your routine streak or chapters.

Open Settings → Health & data in YUL and tap to connect. YUL only reads your Active Energy to show the ring, it never writes to Health, and your health data never leaves your device. Disconnect anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → YUL.

The Weather card stays off until you tap Enable Location yourself, YUL never asks automatically. If you grant access, your coordinates are used only to fetch local UV, humidity, and wind from Apple's WeatherKit. Your location is never sent to our analytics and never stored on any server. Revoke it anytime in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → YUL.

Yes. Each wellness reminder type can be turned off independently in YUL's notification settings, and you can revoke notification permission entirely in iOS Settings at any time. Reminders are scheduled on your device, no push servers are involved.

No, there's no username and no password. YUL uses your iCloud account as your identity, so your routine, streak, chapters, and journal sync privately across your Apple devices with nothing to set up. If you sign out of iCloud, YUL can't function; sign back in to restore everything.

Sync is automatic when you're signed in to iCloud, there's no toggle inside YUL. To verify it at the system level, go to Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Saved to iCloud and make sure YUL is on. Use the same Apple ID on every device.

Try these in order:

1. Confirm both devices are signed in to the same Apple ID.
2. Confirm YUL is enabled under Saved to iCloud on both devices.
3. Check your internet connection, sync needs a working connection on both.
4. Open YUL on both devices and wait 30–60 seconds; first sync can take a moment.
5. Force-quit and relaunch YUL on the device missing the changes.

If it still doesn't appear, email us with both device models and iOS versions.

YUL Premium starts with a free trial, 1 week on the monthly and yearly plans, or 3 days on the weekly plan. Billing only begins when the trial ends, and you can cancel anytime before then in your Apple subscription settings.

All subscriptions are handled by Apple. Go to Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone to upgrade, change billing period, or cancel. Changes take effect at the end of your current billing period.

Open YUL, go to Settings → Account → Restore Purchases, and make sure you're signed in with the Apple ID you used to subscribe. Your Premium access will be restored. YUL Premium also works with Family Sharing.

This is almost always an Apple ID mismatch. Confirm the device is signed in to the Apple ID you purchased with, then tap Restore Purchases in Settings → Account. If it persists, email us with your App Store order number and we'll look into it.

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com within Apple's refund window. We don't see your payment details and can't process refunds on our end, but if Apple declines and you think it's unfair, email us and we'll do what we can.

No. Your journal photos, observations, products, notes, and shielded-app choices stay on your device and in your own private iCloud container. YUL runs no user-data servers, so we can't view, export, or share your photos.

No. Your routine photos are saved only to your own journal, on your device and in your private iCloud. They're never uploaded to a YUL server, never analyzed, and never used to train anything. See our Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.

You can reset everything from inside the app under Settings → Skin journal & privacy. To remove the iCloud copy too, delete YUL from all your devices and turn off Saved to iCloud → YUL in your device's system Settings; iCloud purges the container on Apple's standard schedule.

Anonymous usage analytics is off until you opt in. When on, it sends only bounded, non-identifying event names, never your photos, the apps you've shielded, or your identity. We also send a few anonymous conversion events (trial started, subscribed, onboarding completed) to Meta through Apple's privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork for ad measurement, no identifier, no tracking.
